Les Rencontres du Carré de Soie

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, the second edition of the « Rencontres » du Carré de Soie took place, a free street party initiated by the metropolis of Lyon, in collaboration with the cities of Vaulx-en-Velin and Villeurbanne and co-constructed with local stakeholders.

For this edition, Oùesk, responsible for artistic and technical direction, coordinated the organization and co-construction of the event, in collaboration with the Collectif Pourquoi Pas for the scenography (2019 and 2022 editions). 

Taking place on the street Alfred de Musset, the goal of the “Rencontres” is to bring together a wide range of local actors committed to sharing their knowledge and skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Around sixty free activities were proposed, including bike repair workshops, gardening, rock climbing, discussions on the city of tomorrow, flea market shopping, music listening, and dancing…

The event also served as an opportunity to spark exchanges and debates among residents on various themes and to discover the Carré de Soie urban project.
